FAQs
Questions people ask before booking.
Insurance, session length, medication, and how to reach us. If your question isn’t here, call 804-264-0966. We’re glad to help.
Do you take my insurance?
Most of our clinicians work with the major health insurance companies, though not every clinician takes every plan. We are not able to check your benefits for you. Call the number on the back of your card and ask whether the clinician you want to see is in network. Insurance & fees lists every plan our clinicians accept, with a link to each carrier’s own provider search.
If you don’t accept my insurance, is there a sliding scale?
Some of our providers do offer sliding-scale fees. You’ll need to speak with the individual provider to arrange this.
What does it mean if I have an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)?
Each provider makes their own decision about whether to participate in EAP plans. Check with the individual provider when making your appointment to find out if they’ll accept your EAP plan, or note that you want to use your EAP benefits on the Request an Appointment form.
What if the provider isn’t a good fit for me? Can I change?
All of our providers believe the therapeutic relationship is crucial to a positive outcome in therapy. You’re always encouraged to ask for a referral if you feel unable, for any reason, to work with a particular provider.
How long is a session?
Therapy sessions typically range from 45–55 minutes, unless explicitly changed by the provider and/or the needs of the client.
Does The Westwood Group provide medication?
Yes. Please call 804-264-0966 or use our Request an Appointment form to request an appointment for medication evaluation and management.
