About Wendy
I am a Board-Certified psychiatrist for adults and have been practicing since 1993 – long enough to recall when doctors had fewer impediments to prioritizing patient care. For this reason, I try to ensure that patients feel cared for, not processed. When patients need to contact me between sessions, they can confer with me directly. I enjoy working collaboratively towards goals and utilize medications, psychotherapy, and lifestyle recommendations to optimize overall health. I have a background in providing psychiatric care to patients with medical illness. Although I am conventionally trained, I am open to the unconventional. I have an interest in nutritional and integrative approaches to healing. My little dog, Paxton, works with me and is known for his calm and affectionate demeanor.
I earned my undergraduate degree from Harvard University and my MD degree from University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. I did my psychiatric residency at Yale University. I also completed two fellowships, both at the Medical College of Virginia, in Consult-Liaison Psychiatry (the interface between medicine and psychiatry) and in Palliative Care. Nevertheless, my education truly began only after my formal training.
“I'm devoted to preserving the essence of patient-centered care, despite the countervailing pressures of our health care system.”
