Anne M. Sitarz, Ph.D.

Dr. Anne Sitarz brings over 40 years of clinical experience to her work at The Westwood Group. She began her career with a specialization in the treatment of children and families so an appreciation of developmental issues and attachment issues influences her work with clients of any age. Early professional experience includes an internship at child programs affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh and then a position on the Children’s Services Team at Chesterfield Mental Health Clinic.

Dr. Sitarz was later a staff psychologist at Virginia Treatment Center for Children for 13 years. While at VTCC, she served a number of years as director of the pre-doctoral internship training program in clinical psychology. Dr. Sitarz was also active in the training of other professionals in the community as a faculty member of the Gestalt Institute of Richmond. A partner in the Westwood Group since 1989, Dr. Sitarz has expanded her treatment focus to adults with a full range of psychological concerns. She has a special interest in treating trauma and has trained in EMDR and other desensitization techniques. Dr. Sitarz has also studied healing prayer methods at Richmond Hill and incorporates them into treatment at the request of clients.
